Making Choices

Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit.

For the promise is made to you and to your children and to all those far off, whomever the Lord our God will call.

Act 2:38-39

LIFE SOLUTIONS

Meditate on Gods Word and His promises for you.

ADDICTIONS:
Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self control  Proverbs 25:28
Romans 12:1-2 says "And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Bring your mind into subjection of the Word by feeding your mind the Word of God. If you're dealing with smoking , drinking ,lust, etc. Remember your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Get in that Word. Get your mind renewed and replace those thoughts with greater thoughts. Confess any scripture you know and that will consume the thoughts that have consumed you. God has given you this Word so you can be free.
Read 1 Corinthians 10:13. The devil wants you to think "I don't know if I can handle this temptation." But this verse says that God will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able. So, if you find yourself in a situation, be encouraged. You can get out of it. It's not impossible.
Here's how temptation works:

Fantasy -Flirtation -Fall  --  First, you allow it to grow in your mind. Then you begin to flirt with it. Then you fall.
We need to deal with it in the early stages - of fantasy and thought life. That way if we stumble, we can still pull back. You can't look at pornography. You have to watch over your heart with all diligence. You have to be careful where you go, who you hang around with and what you watch, because you have a responsibility to watch over your heart.
2 Tim 2:22 says "Flee youthful lusts." Run with all your might. Run as if your life depended on it. Run with them that call on the Lord from a pure heart. Eccl 4:9 says "Woe to the one who falls and is alone." Get help when you need it.

Here are a few simple steps to help you:

1.Repent.  Confessing your sins:

27Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. 29For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. 31But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment. 32When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.

Luke 13

Repent or Perish
Jesus answered, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.

Mark 1

John the Baptist Prepares the Way
It is written in Isaiah the prophet:
"I will send my messenger ahead of you,
      who will prepare your way"—
"a voice of one calling in the desert,
'Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.' "4 And so John came, baptizing in the desert region and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

” Repent means to turn, to change your mind and to change your direction

Acts 2, in verse 38, Peter said to them,“Repent and “And be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

For the promise is made to you and to your children and to all those far off, whomever the Lord our God will call."

Romans 12:1-2 says be transformed by the changing of your mind.

As you get your mind renewed, your desires change.

II Timothy 1:7

Father, I thank You that I do not have a spirit of fear, but I have a spirit of power, a spirit of love and a spirit of a sound, strong, firm, safe, stable and disciplined mind which produces Godly thoughts.

Colossians 3:2

I set my mind on things above, not on things on the earth.!

Isaiah 54:14, 17

I am established in righteousness. I am far from oppression in my mind; and fear and terror will not come near me to control me.  No weapon formed against me shall prosper and every tongue that accuses me in judgment shall be shown to be in the wrong.

Philippians 4:7-8

Father, I thank You that the peace of God, which surpasses all knowledge, is guarding my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. I command my mind to dwell only on that which is true, honorable, pure, lovely excellent and worthy of praise.

Romans 12:1-2

Father, I present my body to You as a living and holy sacrifice acceptable to You, which is my spiritual service of worship.  I will not be conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of my mind, that I may prove what the will of God is.

-2.Know who you are in Christ.

I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.

Be convinced you are redeemed. Take a look in the mirror and tell yourself what Job proclaimed: “I know that my redeemer lives” (Job 19:25). We are also reminded in Galatians 3:13 that Christ redeemed you. Ephesians 1:7 tells us that we have redemption through the shed blood of our Savior.
Proverbs 18:21 reminds us that life, blessing and prosperity are in the power of the tongue.
You choose life and you identify with  Jesus Christ say :
"I'm more than a conqueror,
"I am holy."

-3.Ask Jesus to help you build self control like a wall around your life so you can keep His blessing in and the damange out.
In the name and the strength of Jesus Christ, you can overcome every trial and accomplish things you never thought possible.
You are a child of the most High God . You have His power on the inside of you.
Remember your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and He is  Emmanuel, or "God with us.

4. Accept personal responsibility
It's your responsibility to drive this mountain out of your life. It's your responsibility to say to this thing "Be gone." It's your responsibility to say to the mountain of curses, "Be thou removed! And cast into the sea."
You need to be set free. Now, it's not a feeling. Breaking free from a curse is not a feeling. It's a decision.Decide that from today on.You choose life and you identify with Jesus Christ.
If you're born again, you are a new creature. God says "Be ye holy, even as I am holy."
Mastering Life
Proverbs 16:32 says, “Better is a man who can rule his spirit (emotions, attitudes) than one who can capture a city.”
3 John 2 “I wish above all things that you would prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers" .So as your soul goes, the rest of your life follows.
Gal 5:16 says, “I say walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”
remember Darkness left when the light came.
James 4:6-7 says, “Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil.” The key to the devil fleeing is first submitting to God. As you submit to God, His Spirit, and His Word – then the devil will flee. The devil comes to someone yielded to their flesh. The flesh is a way of thinking that’s contrary to God’s way of thinking.
Recognize Your Flesh is not the real you. 2 Corinthians 5:17 If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. I’m not connected to my past. Honor the new in you. You have a new Spirit. You have love, the Father, a new covenant, a new name, a new family, and you have a new way of doing things. As we feed and honor the new man in us, we starve the old man.
Meditate on the Word, and as you do, you’ll no longer fulfill the lust of the flesh.
let me encourage you if you’re about to lose hope:
me encourage you:
2 Corinthians 4:8-9. Paul was a man of great faith, and he says, “We are hard-pressed (troubled) on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.”
Faith doesn’t say “I never have trouble.” Faith say, “Trouble doesn’t have me.” Faith doesn’t say bad things never happen.” It says, “I’m going to win. Jesus is on my side.”
in 2 Timothy 3, it says, “In the last days there will be trouble.” The devil is trying to defeat us and destroy us. First Timothy 4:1 says in the latter days some shall depart from the faith. Whenever you’re going through a trial, your faith is on trial. The devil’s trying to damage your faith.
All things are possible to them who believe. In the last days trouble will come, and faith will come. The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came that we would have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10).
In Acts 26:17-18, Jesus told Paul to “Teach people to receive forgiveness of sins and their inheritance
Righteousness is the answer to everything!
Righteousness means Right standing with God. Holiness means Right living for God.
1 Corinthians 15:34 says, "Awake to righteousness and sin not." Understand your righteousness and the result will be - you won't sin. So right standing precedes right living. Until you get this you won't be healed or prosperous.
Romans 11:16 says, "…if the root be holy, so are the branches." The root of your Christianity is right standing with God. The fruit of your Christianity is right living for God. If your root isn't holy, you can't make the branches holy any other way. You have to know you're in right standing with God.
Remember; in  John 8 where Jesus was confronted with the woman caught in the act of adultery. He convicted the woman’s accusers of sin (John 8:7-9). He did not condemn the adulteress, but told her to “sin no more” (John 8:10-11).
Implicit in Jesus’ command to sin no more is repentance. Jesus did not tell the woman that she could continue sinning, or that forgiveness absolves continuing sins. Jesus said to “sin no more.”

Jesus spoke of repentance on many occasions (Matt. 4:17; Matt. 11:20-24; Matt. 12:41-42; Mark 1:15; Luke 17:1-4; Rev. 3:19). Jesus says that death through persecution and tragedy is preferable to the judgment that comes upon those who do not repent (Luke 13:1-5). In Revelation, Christ told members of the church – “Christians” - to repent or else: He would remove the congregation’s lampstand (Rev. 2:5); He would fight against the evil doers with the sword of His mouth (Rev. 2:16); He would cast those who committed sexual immorality into a sickbed and great tribulation (Rev. 2:21-22); and He would come upon them in judgment as a thief in the night (Rev. 3:3). Like the woman caught in adultery, Christians cannot continue sinning. “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62).

In the NT … has reference to ‘repentance’ from sin, and this change of mind involves both a turning from sin and a turning to God” (cf. 2 Cor. 7:9-11).

How then would a thief repent of sin? Not simply by stopping his stealing, but also by returning or restoring that which he stole (Luke 19:8-9). As one man once said, “A horse thief has not repented while he is still sitting in my saddle.” Similarly, drunkards should stop drinking (1 Cor. 6:10). The materialistic should stop coveting (1 Cor. 6:10), and those committing sexual immorality of any form – whether pre-martial, extramarital, or homosexual – must end these activities and relationships as well (1 Cor. 6:9; Rev. 2:18-23).

5.Join a Church:
They were baptized and in that same day there were added unto them about 3000 souls.” (Acts 2:41)
8 They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers.
43
Awe came upon everyone, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
44
All who believed were together and had all things in common;
45
they would sell their property and possessions and divide them among all according to each one's need.
46
Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple area and to breaking bread in their homes. They ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart,
47
praising God and enjoying favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.
Acts Chapter 2

LUST:
If you need help overcoming lust in your life
Learn that:
lust produces lack. James 4:2 says, “You lust and have not.” The harvest of lust is lack. When you plant the seed of lust, you end up without the thing you want.
lust isn’t just for a person. It can be a thing.
I Corinthians 10:6 says, “Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.”
James 4 , 3, “You ask and receive not, because you ask amiss that you may consume it upon your lusts.” So when you desire something, it should be “I want not what they have, but what You have for me, Lord.” Lust is just feeling the desire for that thing. Instead, find a promise in God’s Word that says you can have it. He’s got to keep His promise. He watches over His Word to perform it, Jeremiah 1:12 says.  The LORD said to me, "You have seen correctly, for I am watching  to see that my word is fulfilled."

ALCOHOL AND DRUG ADDICTIONS:
Bring your mind into subjection of the Word by feeding your mind the Word of God. If you're dealing with smoking and drinking - your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Get in that Word. Get your mind renewed and replace those thoughts with greater thoughts. Open your mouth. Confess any scripture you know and that will consume the thoughts that have consumed you. God has given you this Word so you can be free.
I John 2:14 says,
"I have written unto you young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you are victorious over the evil one." You're strong when the Word of God abides in you. John 15:7 says, "If you abide in Me, My words abide in you, you shall ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you." God takes that Word that you have abiding in you, and then He has something to work with.

PRAYER TO
SAINT MICHAEL
THE ARCHANGEL

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
